Eli Lilly and Company
Immunology
Subba R. Chintalacharuvu graduated from the Department of Pathology,
at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio, in Experimental
Pathology. Dr. Chintalacharuvu studied the effect of interleukins
on the structure (glycosylation) and function of immunoglobulins
especially IgA. Glycosylation plays an important role in the pathogenesis
of many diseases like rheumatoid arthritis and IgA nephropathy.
In 2001 he joined Eli Lilly and Company as a Senior Biologist. At
Lilly, Dr. Chintalacharuvu did research on autoimmune animal models
like rheumatoid arthritis, glomerulonephritis, and multiple sclerosis
and tested the efficacy of many novel compounds. Besides testing
compounds for Lilly, Dr. Chintalacharuvu is interested in the role
of T and NK T cells in acute inflammation.
