The major research effort of my laboratory is directed at understanding
metabolic physiology of energy homeostasis. We take a multidisciplinary
approach to study regulation of food intake and body weight that
utilizes expertise in molecular biology, histology, study of ingestive
behavior, neuroendocrinology, metabolic physiology and transgenic
mouse technology. Our research goals are to discover pharmaceutical
means to decrease body lipid storage by regulating energy expenditure,
appetite, satiety, hypothalmic set-points; in isolation or in
combination.
