Anatomy Education

For over 30 years, I have been intimately involved with the teaching of human anatomy in the biology department. BIOL N261 is the largest course administered by this department and is essential training for a great number of prospective health professions students, including those interested in nursing, dentistry, and several allied health programs.  My concerns include maintaining quality, hands-on learning environments, stimulating anatomical thinking skills (no, it’s not only memorization!) and upholding rigorous, but attainable, standards for student achievement.  Toward these ends, I have taken an active role in training and coordinating the activities of new instructors and in continuing and expanding the appropriate use of learning aids.
